Dr. Kevin McConnell

Dr. Kevin McConnell is a PharmD with roughly 20 years of relevant professional experience including over ten years of experience as a MEDITECH consultant, project manager, and application specialist in healthcare system implementation and assessments. He specializes in the implementation and support of MEDITECH’s Advanced Clinical Applications with a particular emphasis on the Pharmacy module and related interfaces. Areas of expertise include pre and post implementation assessments, developing implementation and training plans, revenue cycle, coordinating process and departmental workflow enhancement/redesign, facilitating/managing application implementation teams, training end-users and change management.

Dr. McConnell’s employment history includes tenures as a manager and senior implementation specialist with consulting firms as well as Corporate Director of Pharmacy for a multiple site health system, Clinical Liaison, Director of Pharmacy, Clinical Information Specialist, Med Management Corporate Committee Task Force member, Facility Instructor, Clinical Pharmacist and Owner/Operator of a retail Pharmacy. In these expansive roles he has managed business operations, budget, established operational objectives and policies, dealt with regulatory requirements, interacted with executives and senior management in addition to standardizing, implementing and optimizing the use of the MEDITECH hospital information system at the respective facilities.

Dr. McConnell holds a PharmD – Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Pacific Stockton, CA and regularly presents and publishes on topics of interest in the industry. Additionally, he is a member of MUSE, American Society of Hospital Pharmacist (ASHP) and Professional Compounding Centers of America (PCCA).
